The Commission confirmed that the captive movement in Israeli prisons with all its political factions will start a real escalating program next Friday, protesting against the continuous attacks against the detainees in the last couple of days, which came as a result of the escaping of 6 detainees from Gilboa prison. The occupation authorities were able to catch 4 of them.
The commission stated that the captive movement agreed on challenging the prison administration, and won’t accept the attack against them, which is conducted to cover the Israeli security failure in Gilboa prison.
Moreover, he commission added that the escalating program will take place on Friday, where they will not deal with the prison service, and will rebel against their laws, where some of the captive movement leaders will go on an open hunger strike.
The commission also stated that the situation inside prison is concerning, and the assaults and attacks against detainees is unbearable.
The commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the detainee Salem Zedat (40) years, from Hebron/ Bani Nai'm ,has ended his hunger strike after coming to an agreement with the prison service to end his arbitrary administrative detention, where the current sentence should be genuine and to be released on 15/11/2021.
The commission pointed out that the detainee Zaidat went on hunger strike for (43) days protesting against his administrative detention, where he is currently held at Al-Ramla clinic suffers from deteriorating health condition as he lost more than (16) kg, and has severe pain all over his body, continuous dizziness and heart problems.
It was mentioned that the detainee Zaidat is a former detainee who spent two years in prison, and has been rearrested in February 2020. He was sentenced to (4) months of imprisonment and after he finished his term the occupation authorities refused to set him free ,where the Israeli intelligence service sentenced him to administrative detention. His sentence was renewed 4 times, which forced him to go on a hunger strike since 43 days. The occupation authorities refused the plea two times, which was submitted by the lawyer of the commission against his administrative detention.
The commission pointed out that there are 8 detainees on hunger strike, protesting against their administrative detention, including two detainees who are striking since more than 40 days.
Detainees in the darkness of prison are subjected to intentional medical ignorance by the prison's service, where some of them have chronic and dangerous diseases without any medical supervision worsen their health conditions, in the light of violating international charters by prison's service, which stipulate on the necessity of providing detainees with the appropriate medical care.
The commission stated that there is a group of detainees that are under intentional medical ignorance, such as: Wadah Bizra from Nablus, who is sentenced to life imprisonment and fifty years and detained in Jelboa prison, where he suffers from abdominal pain and vomits anything he eats, and he needs urgent medical care.
Another detainee Emad Ikmail (55) years old from Jenin is suffering from respiratory obstruction and he needs an urgent operation. He also suffers from problems in the abdomen and Urinary tract. Ikmail threatens to go on a hunger stick in case he was not provided with medical treatment.
The commission of detainee’s stated that Israeli prison service holds full responsibly due to using the policy of medical ignorance against the Palestinian detainees, calling on international organizations, human rights organizations and the Red Cross to be obliged to its commitments towards the cause of detainees.
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs calls on the media and openly the international community and its Institutions, foremost International committee of the Red Cross to act immediately to end the Nazi acts of the Israeli prison service and special units in Naqab prison.
The commission stated that section 6 is under a cruel attack, where it was attacked by domesticated special units with different weapons and trained dogs, supported by a number of Israeli military soldiers that were summoned urgently from a nearby Military base, with ambulances accompany them. Detainees have been handcuffed, get thrown out and beaten. In response, the detainees burned down 7 room cells.
The commission warned of the shameful international silence, and stated that the continuous escalation means real war inside the prison, violating detainees' lives will lead to a real confrontation with the same level inside and outside the prison. We refuse to turn our detainees into victims to cover up the occupation government and its military services defeat against 6 heroic detainees, who broke a strong security system that was praised by the Israeli prison service.
The commission pointed out that the incursions and penalties included most of the detainees in all prisons, as it is heading towards more racial and retaliatory acts under directions from Israeli political Military support.
Therefore, the National and Islamic Factions and Institutions working in the field of detainees and all people have to support our detainees and to prevent Israel from taking revenge of them.
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs expressed its deep concern of the brutal and racist attack against detainees in all prisons, especially after the sudden storming of Jelboa prison yesterday.
The commission reported that Al-Yamaz and Drour Special Forces broke into section (1) and (4) of Jelboa prison and conducted many attacks and inspections inside the section, knowing that those section include detainees from Fatah Movement.
The Commission stated the storming have been implemented without any justification, and that the Special Forces intended to revoke detainees and destroy their belongings, where the state of tension still prevailing among detainees in all sections of the prison.
The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs MG.Qadri Abu Baker assured that the situation inside the prisons is unbearable, and that the break-ins and attacks on detainees are increasing, the last of which is the violent break-in of section (16) at Ofar prison.
Abu Baker expressed his deep concerns towards the prison’s policy in targeting the stability of the daily life of detainees, which is proceeding within a systematic plan supported by the highest political and military parties in the occupation's government.
Qadri Abu Baker called on the international community to end the attack against detainees immediately, and to hold Israel accountable for its crimes and its violations of international laws, conventions and treaties.
Abu Baker's statements came during honoring the detainees Ramez Rimawi and Nour Abu Rjeleh.
The lawyer of the Commission of Detainees Akram Samara stated yesterday, that military court of Ofar postponed the judgment in releasing the pregnant detainee Anhar Aldeek with a bail, until next Sunday 5/9/2021.
The commission said that the lawyer Samara submitted a request to release the detainee Aldeek who is suffering from difficult detention conditions in her last weeks of pregnancy with her fetus (Alaa).
It is worthy to mention that the 26-year- old detainee Anhar Aldeek from Kofor Na’ma /Ramalla, was arrested on 8/3/2021 which marks international women’s day, while was pregnant in her 3rd month. She was detained and held in bad conditions without taking into consideration her health conditions. Anhar's case will be the ninth women that gives birth in prison if she wasn’t released noting that she could be in labor any moment.
The commission of detainees stated that nine detainees are continuing their hunger strike, protesting against their administrative detention, while the prison service practice pressure against detainees to prevent them from continuing their hunger strike by transferring the detainees between prisons and detention cells, in addition of preventing the lawyers from visiting the detainees.
The commission also stated that the strikers detainees include: the detainee Salem Zedat who is on hunger strike since (37) days and the detainee Mujahed Hamed since (35) days, at Ramlah prison.
Moreover, the detainees kayed Al Fasfous since (34) days at Asqalan prison ,Rafat Darwesh since (27) days at “Ohli kdar “ prison , Miqdad Qawasmi since (27) days at Ofar prison ,Yousef ALamer since (20) days at Negev prison ,Ahmad Mahamra since (18) days at Negev prison ,Akram Fasfous since ( 13) days at Remon prison and last but not least, Alaa Arraj since (9) days .
The commission stated that the government of occupation and prison services should hold full responsibility on the lives of detainees on hunger strike and their deteriorating health conditions.
The Israeli occupation authorities continue to use the policy of administrative detention against Palestinian detainees, where the Commission of detainees stated that 89 orders of administrative detention have been issued on July, including 38 new orders and 60 renewal orders.
The Commission pointed out that the Israeli military laws related to the orders of administrative detention are based on the mandatory emergency law of 1954, and that Israel still applying it on the Palestinian detainees, breaching all the international laws and norms. However, the number of administrative detainees in Israeli prisons is nearly 540.
The Commission denounced the harsh policies implemented by Israel against our detainees, which have been used as a collective punishment for detainees and their families.
