The occupation forces suppress the Palestinian journalists during their duty

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the occupation authorities have escalated their attacks against Palestinian journalists, especially in the Shiekh Jarrah neighborhood in the occupied Jerusalem, which its residences are threatened to be evicted from their houses in favor of settlers.
Since the beginning of demonstrations protesting against the systematic Israeli policy of suppressing the Palestinians, especially in Jerusalem, the occupation forces obstruct the work of journalists and prevent them from exposing the crimes committed in Jerusalem.
The commission stated that the occupation forces' suppress for journalists is represented in summon, arrest, confiscating equipment and shooting them directly, in addition to storming headquarters and media institutions, confiscating their equipment and closing them.
Journalists also got detained, prevented from meeting their lawyers, deprived of family visits and sentenced to pay fines.
According to latest statistic, there are (18) journalists who are currently detained in Israeli prisons, after arresting the journalist Zaina Halawani and Wahbi Makkyeh, where they have been attacked in a brutal way.
The commission called on the international human rights organizations to send investigation committees in order to document the violations committed against media crews, and to hold the occupying state accountable for the its crimes

 

Releasing 6 detainees from Jerusalem who have been detained during the last attack on the old town of Jerusalem

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the so-called "the Central Court" in Jerusalem decided to release 6 detainees from Jerusalem, who have been arrested during the fierce attack carried out by the occupation forces in the old town of Jerusalem, where they had a quarrel with settlers.
The commission pointed out that the department of legal affairs at the commission had submitted an appeal to the Central Court to release five guys from the Salaymeh family (Shaher, Muhammad Qasem, Ziyad, Muhammad Imad and Muhammad Ahmad), and Musaab Abu Farha. All of them are from the old town of Jerusalem.

 

The occupation court in Jerusalem extends the detention of 17 Palestinians from Jerusalem

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated on Thursday that the Israeli Magistrate Court in Jerusalem extended the arrest of 17 Palestinians from Jerusalem under the pretext of the continuation of interrogation.

The Israeli occupation forces continue to conduct an aggressive campaign of arrests against the people of Jerusalem since Ramadan, due to the events of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and the aggression against Gaza.

450 arrest cases have been recorded, which accompanied with torture and beating, pepper gas and shooting them directly.

Many of detainees were moved to hospitals to have medical treatment after attacking them, and they are prevented from meeting their families and lawyers.

Detainees at Itzion prison threaten to start a hunger strike

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that 43 detainees of Itzion prison threatened the administration of prison to start a hunger strike in a protest against their harsh detention conditions and the humiliating treatment by jailers.
The commission pointed out that this step comes due to attacking the detainees and humiliating them by the jailers, and providing bad food in quantity and quality.
Moreover, some detainees were beaten during arrest in a barbaric way, besides filming them by soldiers and share their videos on Tiktok App.
The commission stated that the majority of detainees testified that the soldiers have destroyed their belongings during breaking into their houses, and frightened the residences with dogs, especially children.

 

The detainees Abu Atwan and Makhamreh continue their hunger strike protesting against the administrative detention and solitary confinement

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated today that the two detainees Ghadanfar Abu Atwan and Muhamad Makhamreh are proceeding in their hunger strike in a protest against the arbitrary administrative detention and solitary confinement.
The commission said that the detainee Abu Atwan (28 years) from Dura/Hebron, who is detained since last October, still on hunger strike since 19 days. He is currently held at the solitary confinement of Ohelekdar prison, after transferring him from Remon prison a few days ago.
The detainee Khalid Makhamreh (26 years) from Yatta/Hebron is on hunger strike since 9 days, protesting against his solitary confinement in Hadarim prison for three months.
The commission stated that the administration of prisons prevents the detainee Makhamreh from buying from the Cantina, where he is facing many attacks by jailers. It is worthy to mention that he is detained since 2016 and he has been shot many times during his arrest.

 

Aggressive campaign of arrests against Palestinians from the lands occupied in 1948, and filed indictment against 116 of them

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs expressed its deep concern from the continuous Israeli aggressive attack against the Palestinian people, who were targeted through the past few weeks in a revengeful racist way in the lands occupied in 1948, Jerusalem and the West Bank.

The commission explained that the occupation forces conducted a brutal campaign of arrests against Palestinians recently, since the beginning of the Palestinian protest and refusal of the Israeli systematic policy of oppression, especially at Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. There is an Israeli plan to expel Palestinians from their houses, which led to launching marches protesting against the fascism decisions of the occupation.

The commission revealed that the total number of arrest cases in the lands occupied in 1948 is nearly 800 cases, where indictments have been filed against 116 of them, in addition to hundreds of cases in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

The occupation authorities used brutal methods during the recent incidents, where Palestinians were attacked by beat, sticks, wastewater, sound bombs, tear gas and live ammunition.

The commission stated that the abusive attacks against our people are just an unsuccessful attempt to break our will and prevent us from defending our rights, lands and homes.

The commission called on the international society and human rights organizations to hold Israel accountable on its crimes and violations against the Palestinians.

MG Abu Baker: racist arrests and threats against our people from the occupied lands of 48

The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, MG Qadri Abu Baker called the international community and all its organizations to intervene immediately to end the revengeful racist attack carried out by the Israeli police against our people from the occupied lands of 48.

He considered that these acts represent a new phase of ethnic cleansing and forced deportation, where the Israeli political and militant levels cooperate with Israeli settlers to force the Palestinian residences to leave their houses.

Abu Baker stated that the Israeli occupation forces carried out an unprecedented campaign of arrests in the occupied lands of 48, where 1550 arrest cases have been recorded, in addition to 150 indictments which have been filed against them.

They got arrested under the pretext of their involvement in demonstrations protesting against the systematic Israeli policy of suppressing the Palestinian people, especially the incidents of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, where there is a plan to expel Palestinians from their houses and gain control over them.

The head of the commission said "the racism of the occupation against our people in the occupied lands on 48 is represented in the frank threat that the next day will witness an unprecedented attack on all Palestinian cities and villages, and that there will be a campaign of arrests, which means that the occupation government had planned to commit this crime.

He also said that Benjamin Netanyahu and his right-wing government bear full responsibility regarding to the unstable situation in the coming days, and there will be no silence in front of these crimes.    

M.G Abu Baker: we condemn and denounce the international bias to Israel in its aggression against the Palestinian people

The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, M.G Qadri Abu Baker, condemned and denounced the international bias to Israel and justifying its aggression against the Palestinian people, under the pretext of self-defense.
Abu Baker stated that some international attitudes were shameful, disgraceful and biased towards the state of occupation, the last of which was by the German Minister of Foreign Affairs who gave Israel the green light to continue its crimes, justifying that Israel is defending itself in front of the resistance bombing in Gaza.
He added "the German Minister of Foreign Affairs forgot the base of the Israeli aggression which led us to this situation, represented in the forcible displacement of people from Jerusalem in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, attacking the worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Ramadan, and the suppression of people from the occupied lands of 1948 who protested to support their brothers in Jerusalem and defend the holy places".
Abu Baker called on the Palestinian Diplomatic representatives and all Human Rights Organizations to expose the stance of the German minister, which confirms the official German stance, where such these statements urge Israel to commit more crimes.
Abu Baker also called on the Security Council and the European Union to end this German bias towards Israel, which makes our innocent children in Gaza to pay the price of this blind support.
Moreover, Abu Baker pointed out that the German Minister of Foreign Affairs was supposed to condemn the continuous bombing and killing in Gaza Strip by the occupation's air force and the ongoing arrest cases of the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the occupied lands of 48.

 

The formation of a voluntary legal staff of 42 lawyers to follow up arrest cases in Jerusalem

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated today that it collaborated with a group of lawyers from Jerusalem and created a voluntary legal staff to follow up arrest cases against people from Jerusalem, West Bank and the lands occupied in 1948.
The Commission said that the increase of arrest cases and attacks by the Israeli army and settlers were the main reason for constituting this national body, which includes 42 lawyers from inside and outside the commission.
The staff works 24 hours a day and on call at any moment to follow any case immediately. This work is to completely free and lawyers do not take any financial charge. Their numbers and addresses can be reached through contacting the directorates of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs or the department of legal affairs in the commission.
The commission thanked and appreciated this national staff, who volunteered to help their people, as this step reinforce the national and social cohesion for all Palestinians.
