The detainee Salem Zaidat ends his hunger strike after an agreement to end his administrative detention.
The commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the detainee Salem Zedat (40) years, from Hebron/ Bani Nai'm ,has ended his hunger strike after coming to an agreement with the prison service to end his arbitrary administrative detention, where the current sentence should be genuine and to be released on 15/11/2021.
The commission pointed out that the detainee Zaidat went on hunger strike for (43) days protesting against his administrative detention, where he is currently held at Al-Ramla clinic suffers from deteriorating health condition as he lost more than (16) kg, and has severe pain all over his body, continuous dizziness and heart problems.
It was mentioned that the detainee Zaidat is a former detainee who spent two years in prison, and has been rearrested in February 2020. He was sentenced to (4) months of imprisonment and after he finished his term the occupation authorities refused to set him free ,where the Israeli intelligence service sentenced him to administrative detention. His sentence was renewed 4 times, which forced him to go on a hunger strike since 43 days. The occupation authorities refused the plea two times, which was submitted by the lawyer of the commission against his administrative detention.
The commission pointed out that there are 8 detainees on hunger strike, protesting against their administrative detention, including two detainees who are striking since more than 40 days.
