All indicators in Israeli prisons warn of a complicated stage

The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, Qadri Abu Baker, warned of the dangerous attitude of the extreme right wing of the Israeli government regarding taking revenge of our detainees.

Abu Baker stated " the new stage will be dangerous as a response of imposing new reality to target detainees".

He also said that we are following what is happening in prisons, where fears increased in the light of the attacks implemented by the administration of prisons.

Abu Baker called on human rights organisations and the committee of the Red Cross to intervene immediately to stop this extremism, which is increasing in way that expose the weakness of the international community in providing protection to our detainees in Israeli prisons.

Persistent suffering for sick detainees in Israeli prisons and deliberate medical ignorance

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs revealed,in a report issued today, the health conditions of many detainees in Naqab prison, after the visitation of the advocate Fadi Obaidat to the prison.

A case in point is the detainee Ahmad Wahdan, 24, from Qalandia refugee camp, who suffers from difficult health conditions due to a car accident before his arrest, which caused a limited disability.

He stopped treatment after his detention which worsened his health condition. Another case in point is the detainee Raed Rayan, 29, from Jerusalem, who suffers from a bacterial infection in the stomach, and nerves problems which creates a state of imbalance. He got the infection after going through a hunger strike, protesting against his administrative detention.

The Last but not least case in point is the detainee Obaidan Samara, 37, from Salfeet who has hearing impairment in the left ear and hypertension which lead to fainting. The administration of prisons refused to conduct the appropriate medical tests for him.

Abu Baker: there is a significant rise in transfer and torture in Israeli prisons and the detainees respond

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs denounced storming the sections of detainees in prisons, humiliating, attacking and isolating them, confirming that the administration of prisons transferred tens of detainees to other prisons.

The head of the Commission, Qadri Abu Baker, stated that the administration of prisons is implementing a plan of isolation and transfer against detainees, where jailers tear up detainees' clothes and destroy their belongings.

Abu Baker clarified that the Israeli policy of torture goes in line with the statements of Ben Gvir, where he confirmed that being a minister of interior affairs will be for the sake of suppression and torture against Palestinian detainees. Abu Baker revealed the willingness of detainees in Israeli prisons to implement struggle acts, which will be announced in the next few days.

The struggle acts include rebel and conducting hunger strikes. It must be mentioned that the Palestinian detainees will never abdicate their rights and achievements they obtained by struggle and hunger strikes. It is worthy to mention that the Israeli forces have stormed many sections in Megiddo prison and isolated 40 detainees after using tear gas and other weapons.

The acts of transfer are expected to spread to many prisons and may last until March. It is also worth mentioning that the Israeli forces had implemented extensive vandalism and destruction during transferring detainees from Remon to Jelboa prison. In addition, they destroyed the belongings of Hadarim prison detainees during transferring them to Nafaha prison.

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the visit of the minister of internal security, Ben-Gvir, to Nafaha prison is just a part of the program of their extremist government.

The Commission confirmed that the visit came to market this program, which also incites on executing Palestinian detainees and commit more crimes,besides to physical and psychological abuse against them.

However, the Commission stated that the unity, adherence and power of detainees will surprise Ben-Gvir and his fascist government, where the abusive measures will be confronted inside the prisons with firmness, challenge and patience.

The Commission called on human rights organisations specialised in detainees affairs and Palestinian people, and international organisations to protect the Palestinian detainees and save their rights and lives and work hard in order to release them. In addition, the Commission called to deter Netanyaho and Ben-Gvir to stop their violations against detainees.

* A state of tension prevailed in Ofer prison after the Mitsada and Alyamaz special forces stormed section 22 and transferred the detainees of Islamic Jihad and attacked them.

The detainee Mohammed Khalil suffers from difficult situations due to his solitary confinement

The Commission of Detainees Affairs stated in a report issued today that the detainee Mohammed Khalil, 39, is suffering from bad health conditions due to isolating him for a long time.

The Commission stated that he has been isolated since more than 15 years, and he is currently held at Romonim prison alone in a cell with surveillance cameras.

The long solitary confinement affected him and caused a deterioration in his health condition. The Commission confirmed that the decision of extending his isolation get renewed automatically.

He left the banner of detainees deanship to his cousin Maher Younis, leaving 4700 detainees waiting their freedom.
 
We receive today a hero who sacrificed himself to defend his cause, where he was arrested while being in university in 1983,under the charge of the affiliation to Fatah Movement, weapon possession and killing an Israeli soldier.
 
The court of Lod sentenced him to execution by hanging, and then adjusted the sentence to life imprisonment, which was specified later to 40 years.
 
Over the last years, the Israeli authorities refused to release him as with all detainees who were arrested before the Oslo Accord, in spite of many exchange bargains.
 
Despite the obstacles he faced in prison, he completed his education in prison, and became a supervisor on the education process for detainees.
 
He released two books during his detention, the first one "the political reality in Israel" in 1990, and " the ideological conflict and settlement" in 1993.
 
He was elected as a member of the Central Committee of Fatah Movement in 2017.
 
He was deprived of bidding farewell to his beloved ones, where his father died in 2013 and his mother died in 2022.
