The Commission of Detainees' Affairs announced the martyrdom of the leader Naser Abu Hmaid, 50, from Amaari Camp/ Ramallah, at Assaf Harofeh Hospital, due to the policy of deliberate medical ignorance pursued by the prison service against sick detainees.
The Israeli authorities transferred Abu Hmaid from Ramla prison to Assaf Harofeh hospital after the deterioration of his health condition.
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs warned earlier if the martyrdom of Abu Hmaid at any moment.
It is worthy to mention that his health condition was getting worse since August 2021, where he started to suffer from pain in his chest , and he had a surgery to remove the tumour, and then he got transferred to Ashkelon prison. Then, he started chemotherapy, but the prisons service was delaying his treatment.
It must be stated that Naser Abu Hmaid was sentenced to (7) life imprisonment in addition to (50) years. He was arrested for the first time in the First Intifada in 1987 for 4 months, and then for two years. He got released and rearrested in 1990, and sentenced to life imprisonment and was released under negotiations.
He was rearrested later and sentenced to life imprisonment.
The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, Qadri Abu Baker, holds the Israeli authorities responsible for the martyrdom of the detainee Naser Abu Hmaid, and he called on the world and international community to stop the Israeli massacre against Palestinian detainees.
The head of the Commission, Qadri Abu Baker, warned of the overt policy pursued by the Israeli occupation, in chasing and murdering Palestinian former detainees.
He pointed out that the consecutive crimes, the last of which was committed against the former detainee Mujahed Hamed, in addition to the former detainees Ata Shalabi, Sedqi Zakarna and Tareq Damj from Jenin.
These actions indicate that the racism of the occupation feed on the blood of Palestinians, especially those who sacrificed their lives for their nation.
Abu Baker said that the statements of the extremist Ben Gvir, who greeted the soldiers who committed this crime today in Jenin, describing them as heroes .
Abu Baker paid tribute to the tournaments and struggle of our people, especially detainees and former detainees and their families.

The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, Qadri Abu Baker, confirmed that the occupation authorities still practicing the policy of medical ignorance against Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
Abu Baker stated that the detainee Naser Abu Hmaid, who suffers from cancer, was the last victim of this policy, where the occupation authorities stopped his chemotherapy, and refused to release him , claiming that there is no decision to release detainees earlier eventhough after their martyrdom.
He also said that there are many sick detainees in Israeli prisons left without any medical assistance, and they are only given painkillers.
Abu Baker stressed on the necessity to send physicians to follow up the health condition of detainees in general and sick ones in particular.
The Commission called on the Israeli authorities to conduct medical examinations every 6 months, in order to reveal any chronic diseases at early stages.
Abu Baker referred to the continuous request by the World Health Organisation and Human Rights organisations to follow up the health conditions of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
The prison service holds the the detainee Yaser Zaid Salahat, 22, from Jenin at the cells of Jelboa prison in terrible conditions.
The lawyer of the Commission, Shiren Eraqi, demonstrated the details of his detention and point out that he's isolated in awful circumstances, where the prisons service deliberately transferred him every three months to different solitary confinement.
The lawyer stated that she had waited one hour to allow visiting him, and when he came to the visit he was handcuffed, under the pretext that he constitutes a threat to the security of the state.
The Commission pointed out that after the operation of Jelboa tunnel, the standards and the criteria have changed a lot, and since then, the prisons administration did not stop to take revenge from detainees and imposed punitive measures against them.
The Israeli authorities have issued (242) administrative detention orders last November, including (120) new orders and (122) renewal orders for between 2_6 months.
The Commission pointed out that (2050) administrative detention orders have been issued since the beginning of this year, which confirms that the occupation authorities are proceeding to implement this unjust policy against the Palestinian people, claiming the presence of a confidential file.
Thereby, the Israeli authorities deprive detainees of their freedom and hold them in prisons without informing them of the reasons of their arrest, and without putting them on fair prosecution.
(830) detainees are currently held under the administrative detention, including 5 minors and 3 women, ( Bushra Taweel, Shurouq Badan and Raghad Fanni).
The detainee Zakaria Zubaidi is confronting the harsh conditions of solitary confinement with strong determination, where he has been detained since more than a year, without any real solutions to end this isolation.
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the prison service holds the detainee Zubaidi in the isolation of Ashkelon prison in difficult conditions, where he got transferred earlier to ( Ishel, Remonim, Ayalon and Ramon) prisons.
The Israeli authorities intended to renew the order of solitary confinement against Zubaidi, as a punitive procedure against detainees who escaped from Jelboa prison. It is supposed to end his isolation by next March.
The Commission stated that the administration of Ashkelon prison inspect Zubaidi's cell randomly in order to suppress him and increase his suffering.
Zubaidi has been rearrested with his colleague Mohammed Arda after escaping from Jelboa prison in September 11 last year, and he was sentenced to 5 years and a fine of 5000 NIS.
The detainee Zakaria Zubaidi, 45, from Jenin camp is a symbol of the second Intifada, where he participated in various military operations against the occupation, and all his siblings experienced detention and his mother and one of his siblings have been martyred during the incursion to Jenin camp in 2002.
It is worthy to mention that this is the fifth detention for Zubaidi, where he was arrested for the first time when he was a child in the first Intifada. He's married and a father of 3 children, and he as a general director at the Commission of Detainees' Affairs.

The highest rate of arrests on November 2022 was in Hebron with (135) cases, followed by Jerusalem with (123) cases, and Ramallah with (52) .
(242) administrative detention orders have been issued on November 2022, including (120) new orders and (122) renewal orders.
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated today that the list of long-term detainees has risen to (314) ,after the join of (21) detainees on November 2022. There are (39) detainees who spent more than 25 years in Israeli prisons, where the detainee Jamal Alhour joined the list of " generals of patience " last month.
The list also includes (25) detainees who are imprisoned since before the Oslo Accord and the establishment of the Palestinian National Authority. The Commission stated that the list of "iconic detainees " , those who were imprisoned since more than 30 years respectively, has risen to (19) detainees after the join of Mohammad Falana, from Ramallah, and he is detained since 29/11/1992.
(8) detainees have served more than 35 years in Israeli prisons, the oldest of whom are the detainees Maher and Kareem Younis, who are imprisoned since 40 years.
It must be pointed out that there are tens of detainees who have been released under the shalit bargain, but they got rearrested in 2014. The detainee Nael Barghouthi is a case in point, where he spent more than 42 years in Israeli prisons.
The Commission confirmed that these numbers are unprecedented, and likely to rise during the coming months.
The Palestinian children are not secure from the Israeli targeting
Commission of Detainees: the Israeli authorities arrested more than 50.000 Palestinian children since 1967
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the Palestinian children are not secure from the Israeli targeting , and that the Israeli violations and crimes against them are countless.
Moreover, targeting children increased and the number of minor detainees increased since the eruption of "Alquds uprising " in 2015, especially in the city of Jerusalem, in an attempt to terrify them and affect their orientations in a bad way.
The Commission pointed out that the Israeli authorities tend to target Palestinian children by murder and detention, where many of them have been killed. The arrests included males and females, injured and sick persons.
50.000 Palestinian children have been detained since 1967, including (20.000) since the outbreak of Al Aqsa uprising on September 2000, and (9.000) have been arrested after Alquds uprising on October 2015.
These records constitute 20% of the total arrests, the vast majority of them are from Jerusalem.
(770) children were arrested since the beginning of this year, including (119) who have been arrested last October, the majority of them are from Jerusalem.
The Commission stated that around (160) children are currently held at the Israeli prisons, distributed to ( Ofer, Megiddo and Damoun) prisons, including (3) females: Jannat Zaidat, 16, from Hebron, Nufouth Hammad, 16, from Jerusalem and Zamzam Qawasmi,17, from Hebron.
In addition, there are (4) children currently arrested under the administrative detention without any charge or trial.
This information was confirmed in a report issued today by the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, on the occasion of International Children's Day, which was declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations, to recall the importance of children and reinforce their rights and provide a decent and secure life for them.
This day coincides with the date of declaring children's rights in November 20, 1959 by the General Assembly of the United Nations, and the agreement on child's rights in November 20, 1989.
The Commission clarified that the procedure used when arresting children is similar to the practices pursued in adults arrest, and the majority of children have been arrested after storming their homes and destroying their belongings late at night. Others got arrested on their way back from their schools and then they got detained in difficult conditions in which they are subjected to many kinds of abuse and torture.
Testimonies certify that all children who experienced detention, have been subjected to physical and psychological abuse.
A case in point is the detainee Ahmad Manasra, who represents the suffering of Palestinian children.
The Commission pointed out that one of the females arrested during Alquds uprising, Fatma Taqatqa, 15, have Martyred after two months of her detention. She's from Bait Fajjar/ southern of Bethlehem, and she was arrested after being shot, and despite of her bad health conditions, the Israeli authorities kept her under arrest without providing the minimum medical care, which led to her martyrdom in May 20, 2017.
The report showed the role of the unjust Israeli courts, which do not take into consideration the situation under which the children confessed, and without taking into account the harshness of torture they were subjected to. However, the courts issue high sentences, which often are accompanied with fines , that constitutes a further burden on detainees' families.
The Israeli courts resort to issue sentences of alienation or house custody, especially against children from Jerusalem, which turned hundreds of Palestinian families into jailers on their kids. This is one of the most cruel punishments imposed by Israeli courts which caused many social and psychological problems to detainees and their families.
The Commission stated that children held in Israeli prisons, whether be males or females, are detained in difficult conditions and deprived of their basic rights stipulated and guaranteed in all international charters and agreements, especially the declaration of children's rights, such as the right to life, health, treatment and not being subjected to torture or abuse.
The Commission confirmed in its report that targeting the Palestinian Children falls within the scope of a systematic Israeli policy that targets the future of the Palestinian childhood, and that the political system in Israel tends to destroy the future of Palestinian children. Thus, Israel has passed many laws that aim at enlarging the circle of children detention with high sentences. This led to an increase in the number of minor detainees and the crimes and violations committed against them.
The Commission warned of the repercussion of the ongoing Israeli target against Palestinian children, and the consequences of detention and torture on their future.
The Commission called on the (UNICEF) and all international organisations specialised in human and children rights to intervene immediately and protect Palestinian children from the increased Israeli targeting, and release all minors from the Israeli prisons and stop the arbitrary arrest against them, especially that the international law has guaranteed a decent and safe life for children.
