Deliberate procrastination and medical ignorance against 3 detainees in Israeli jails

on . Posted in slider

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs expressed its deep concerns on the increasing use of medical ignorance policy implemented by the administration of prisons against sick detainees, and the constant targeting in preventing the appropriate medical treatment for them.
The commission revealed 3 sick cases in Israeli prisons, including the detainee Ahmad Khaseeb (25 years) from Aroura/Ramallah. Khaseeb suffers from Thalassemia, and needs special care for his case. He has been arrested from his house last month, on the day he was supposed to take a dose of blood, which he takes every 21 days.
He was held at Ofer prison and sentenced to 4 months of administration detention , and then the sentence was mitigated to 2 months.
Another case in point is the detainees Raafat Battat (40 years) from Thahrya/ Hebron. He is held at Jelboa prison and suffers from severe toothache, since he does not have grinding teeth and it is difficult for him to chew food. He needs to implant grinding teeth, so he will be able to eat normally.
The last case in point is the detainee Ali Rajabi (45 years) from Hebron. He suffers from migraine which leads him to lose focus and to be stressed and tired all the time. He also have problems in his eye and needs an urgent surgery, but the administration of Jelboa prison is procrastinate in moving him to hospital.
