Administrative detainees still boycotting the administrative courts for the fourth week respectively
The Commission of Detainees Affairs stated on Sunday that 450 administrative detainees in Israeli jails still boycotting the administrative courts since twenty five days.
The detainee, Bassam Abu Aker, from the committee heading the boycott stated during a lawyer visit "there is a great insistence on this step from various factions of the Detainees' Movement to overthrow the policy of Administrative Detention". He added: "this step comes in light of resorting to administrative detention by the Israeli occupation as a sword on the necks of hundreds of Palestinians, where the number of administrative detainees is determined by the Israeli Shin Bet without any rules or justifications".
Abu Baker explained that boycotting the courts of administrative detention has become an inevitable step being:
1. Fully false courts, starting from the confidential file ending with the courts of confirmation and appeal, in addition to responding to the prosecution requests.
2. Using sessions to legitimize the legal nature of such proceedings.
3. Violating the legal norms and human rights.
4. Practicing administrative detention for decades without real security reasons.
5. Using this measure as a collective punishment against Palestinians.
6. The administrative detention affects thousands of Palestinian people.
7. The continuous extension of administrative detention orders, which may extend for years, has stolen the lives of dozens of Palestinians, including people who served 15 years in jails.
