Escalated medical ignorance violations against detainees held in Ofer prison

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs confirmed in a report issued today that the administration of prison is deliberately violating the medical rights of sick detainees, as it targets them obviously by neglecting their health conditions and procrastinating in providing the appropriate treatment.

The commission stated, based on a visit managed by its lawyer, that both detainees Hamza Safran and Mohammad Ahmad are facing critical health conditions, deprived of their minimum rights and exposed to deliberate medical ignorance and delay in treatment.

The Commission emphasized that detainee Hamza Safran, from Ramallah, suffers from sinuses before his detention. He started to suffer from vision impairment while in detention.
It is worth mentioning that Safran is sentenced to administrative detention and sentenced before to three sentences of administrative detention for six months each time. He ends his sentence by 15/4/2025.

With regard to detainee Mohammad Ahmad, from Hebron, he suffers from cancer in in the bladder and pancreas. He was receiving treatment before his detention, and was having a surgery each three months. He had 42 laparoscopic tests and 86 chemotherapy.
