Fares meets George Noll, the Political File Official for the occupying state and the occupied Palestinian Territories

 February 26, 2024

The head of the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs, Qaddura Fares, met with the Political File Official of the United States for the occupying state and the occupied Palestinian Territories, George Noll, today in his office. Fares briefed Noll on the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, where food is insufficient and polluted, which caused weight loss for detainees, as the food served for ten detainees is not even enough for two detainees.

Fares called for an immediate and actual American intervention to oblige Israel stop this brutal attack against male and female detainees, as the extent of torture and abuse have not been used even in the middle ages. Prisons have turned into slaughterhouses and places of torture, in which executions and murders are committed. Sick detainees are left without medications and all detainees live in empty rooms that only include a thin mattress and cover. Fares emphasized that Israel aims at taking revenge from the Palestinian people, as murder, destruction, invasions and detention in Gaza and all Palestinian cities are implemented under the instructions of Netanyahu and Ben Gvir, and other racist leaders in the Israeli military and political regime.

Fares stated that there are more than (7200) arrest cases documented in the West Bank and Jerusalem, half of them are sentenced to administrative detention. Detainees where robbed of their basic rights and the Israeli occupation denied their humanity. Moreover, there are thousands of detainees from Gaza whom we don’t have any information about their place of detention or conditions of detention, as there are new prisons opened underground, which reflects the real horrific situation liver by detainees.

Fares affirmed that the main reason behind the incidents happened before and after October 7 was the occupation, where it is unbelievable for Palestinians to stay in this situation, which deprives them of living in peace and stability as all people around the world, and this won’t be achieved without establishing the independent Palestinian state and ending the occupation.

Fares called on the United States to practice its capabilities to put an end for the Israeli insanity and stressed that there should be an American position towards male and female detainees to provide them with their basic needs, represented in food, clothing and covers, in addition to stop torture and abuse practices against them.
