The leader Kareem Younis is free, leaving the banner of " detainees deanship" to his cousin Maher Younis

on . Posted in slider

The leader detainee Kareem Younis is free today after spending 4 decades in prison.

He left the banner of detainees deanship to his cousin Maher Younis, leaving 4700 detainees waiting their freedom.

We receive today a hero who sacrificed himself to defend his cause, where he was arrested while being in university in 1983,under the charge of the affiliation to Fatah Movement, weapon possession and killing an Israeli soldier.

The court of Lod sentenced him to execution by hanging, and then adjusted the sentence to life imprisonment, which was specified later to 40 years.

Over the last years, the Israeli authorities refused to release him as with all detainees who were arrested before the Oslo Accord, in spite of many exchange bargains.

Despite the obstacles he faced in prison, he completed his education in prison, and became a supervisor on the education process for detainees.

He released two books during his detention, the first one "the political reality in Israel" in 1990, and " the ideological conflict and settlement" in 1993.

He was elected as a member of the Central Committee of Fatah Movement in 2017.

He was deprived of bidding farewell to his beloved ones, where his father died in 2013 and his mother died in 2022.
