The list of "senior detainees ", who spent more than (20) years in prison, rises to (293)

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated today that the list of "senior detainees " to (293) with the join of (10) detainees of long-term last October.

The term of "senior detainees" refers to detainees who spent more than (20) years in Israeli prisons.

This list includes (38) detainees who spent more than 25 years in Israeli prisons, and they are called "generals of patience".

Moreover, there are (25) detainees who have been imprisoned since before the Oslo Accord.

The Commission pointed out that the list of "detainees icons" refers to detainees who spent more than (30) years in Israeli prisons, which risen to (18) detainees after Deyaa Al- Agha has joined the list.

There are (8) detainees who spent more than (35) years in prisons, the oldest of whom are the detainees Kareem Younis and Maher Younis, who are imprisoned since 1983.

The Commission stated in its report that there are tens of detainees who have been released under exchange bargains "the shalit deal" in 2011 and got rearrested in 2014, such as the detainee Nael Barghouthi, who spent more than 42 years in Israeli prisons.

The Commission confirmed that these numbers are unprecedented and have not been recorded, it is also might rise in the upcoming months. Thus, the cause of detainees shall be put on priority in order to highlight their suffering, and work ti release them.
