The list of "senior detainees" rises to (74)
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the list of "senior detainee", a term that symbolizes Palestinian detainees who have been imprisoned since more than 20 years in Israeli prisons, has risen to (74) after the detainee Saad Aldeen Jaber joined the list. He is 43 years old from Ramallah, and detained since 15/6/2001.
He has been accused of resisting the occupation and the affiliation of Fatah Movement, and he was sentenced to (35) years of imprisonment.
The commission pointed out that (34) of senior detainees have served more than 25 years, including (25) detainees who have been jailed before the Oslo Accord and (13) detainees who served more than 30 years in prison such as: the detainees Kareem Younes and Maher Younes who were detained since 1983.
