On Tuesday, conferees in Ramallah have announced that Administrative detainees in Israeli jails will begin to boycott Israeli military courts
This act will begin at February 15, 2018, and it will be a comprehensive boycott with no time limit.
During the press conference held at the presence of the head of the Commission of Detainees Affairs, Issa Qaraqe', the head of the Palestinian Prisoners Society, Qaddura Fares, the director of Hurreyat Center, Helmi Al A'raj and many other officials, they confirmed their support and commitment to the decision of Administrative detainees. They considered this action as an important strategic step to confront the policy of Administrative detention, and called for the Palestinian people to support this step.
Qaraqe' pointed out that the administrative detainees asked the lawyers who made petitions and appeals to end them by next March.
There are about 450 administrative detainees detained by the occupation authorities on the pretext of having a "secret" file. During the past year, 1060 administrative detention orders were issued by the Israeli authorities, including (379) new administrative orders.
